A simple chocolate cake
The majority of us would probably agree that chocolate cake is one of the nicest types of cakes, but occasionally there can be extra procedures that aren't really essential.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (142g) all-purpose flour (scoop and level to measure)
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 6 Tbsp (35g) Dutch process cocoa powder, plus more for dusting pan
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil or canola oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
Making the Simplest Chocolate Cake
- turn the oven on to 350 degrees.
- pan ready: Use nonstick cooking spray to coat a 9 by 9 or 8 by 8-inch baking dish, then sprinkle with some cocoa. Shake off any extra cocoa.
- For the dry ingredients, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing basin.
- Incorporate wet ingredients: Add the eggs, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, and. Blend mixture thoroughly by whisking it.
- Batter should be poured into the baking pan.
- Bake in preheated oven for between 27 and 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into middle of cake comes out clean.
- Allow to fully cool on a wire rack.
Make Chocolate Ganache Frosting at Home
- Make ganache while the cake cools.
- Put finely chopped chocolate in a medium mixing dish that can withstand heat.
- In a small saucepan set over medium heat, heat heavy cream until it just begins to simmer.
- Using a rubber spatula, mix the chocolate until it is melted and smooth after adding hot cream.
- Spread ganache over cake and cut after letting it cool for about 30 minutes or until it has a thicker consistency.
